Homegirl Product Line by Gina Bishop

Homegirl mentioned in Akron Beacon Journal article.

"Hudson’s Homegirl is going global. Gina Bishop, who has earned a local following for her periodic Homegirl barn sales, is coming out with her own home decor line. Bishop is working with a company based in China that will produce the products and distribute them to retailers internationally.
She said the line includes items such as accent pillows, throws, wall decor and other decorative accessories, all with a handcrafted feel. Most will be manufactured in India, except for a few higher-priced pieces she will make herself. Eventually she hopes to have some of her products made in the United States, she said.
The line is scheduled for launch next spring, although she hopes to have some of the products available at her next barn sale, June 5 to 7 at 2357 Hudson-Aurora Road. (Hours are 6 to 8 p.m. June 5 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 6 and 7.) She also plans to sell the items at the Country Living Fair from Sept. 12 to 14 in Columbus".

Positive Messages Stick!  The following link takes you to an article that was in The Akron Beacon Journal this past Sunday about Lila and her friend Sadie who started an anonymous guerilla art campaign using post it notes with positive messages on them around Hudson Middle School that I spoke of in a prior blog post.  I am fortunate enough to have Mary Beth Breckenridge (an awesome ABJ writer who has done stories about Homegirl) read my blog and ask fellow awesome writer Kim Mcmahan to do a story about the girls. What struck me most about what these girls are doing is that Kim said that she mostly does stories on bullying and that this was very heartwarming to hear of young ladies trying to make a positive difference.  We could not be more proud of both our daughters and this is one of the best things that has ever come from me doing this blog.  Thank YOU ALL for allowing me to share!

Homegirl Article - Akron Beacon Journal by Gina Bishop

I woke up at an ungodly hour this morning, walked down to the end of my driveway, in my pajamas nonetheless, sat on the ground with legs crossed and squealed a bit (ok, I squealed a lot!) when I saw this amazing spread.

I am just so happy with the article in the Akron Beacon Journal (which describes a bit about the upcoming decorating-tip videos I did for MSN.com) and how awesome it looks. If you can get your hands on a copy, check it out. It's even better in person!
