Where in the world has Homegirl been? / by Gina Bishop

Yes, I do feel like where in the world have I been literally and figuratively.  In 5 weeks, I will have been in 3 different countries.  I was in India, Curacao, and now I am going to China tomorrow.  It really has been so cool and all feels surreal at the same time.  I was India because I am developing a Homegirl product line that will be produced there.  The Indian craftsmanship is beautiful and the hand work and hand touched feel are just what a Homegirl product line would be.  I was in such nice facilitates that work with Anthropologie, Crate &Barrel, Restoration Hardware and Target.  I feel so blessed to be in the position I am in and am working harder than I ever have to bring this to life.  I keep saying, "Careful what you wish for, because it may actually come true."  Here are pictures from my trip.  What an incredible adventure for me and Brian.

Our first time ever being on 14 hour flight from New Jersey to Delhi. We started out so excited and energized, so I had to include a before and after shot of us after the long travel.  I woke up at one point and looked at the flight map and we were flying over Russia.  The airport there was really neat. Loved the hands.

This is the Oberoi Hotel where we stayed in Delhi. I have never stayed in a more luxurious hotel. We loved everything about it, especially the butler button by our bed we were afraid to use at first.  But after the first time the butler brought us coffee, we were hooked.  I felt like I was in a James Bond movie for most of this trip, and this hotel was no exception.  Brian loved the incense burning everywhere and the food was so delicious.  We loved the savory Indian breakfasts.

This is what a workday looked like for us.  Everyone was so hospitable and we got flowers everywhere we visited.  I loved signing Homegirl in the guest book at one of the facilities we visited.  Before me, was the big ones like Sears, Crate& Barrel and Target.  THEN, Homegirl.  OH MY!

We flew from Delhi, to Jodhpur which was more Persian in feel and was just this beautiful city that is unlike anything I had every experienced.  We stayed in a villa on grounds of a king's castle.

We got to go to this event at the Mehrangarh Museum which was a fort that really was one of the neatest things I have ever gotten to see or do.  It was made of sandstone and felt like you were in a real life sandcastle.  Guests at this party we attended the next night were Mick Jagger and Sting.  Lucky us.  Playing celebrity for a bit.
