Feeling Scrappy! / by Gina Bishop

I have something for fabric scraps and folk art!  I really do!  I have it for paper scraps as well, but lately I have been wanting to work with fabric and stitching    I have so many bags of fabric scraps that I have used for lots of projects over the years and decided to come up with this latest number (top picture) all from what I already had.  I just love to work with "throw-a-ways" and make it come together to be something new.  I have been really inspired by the art of Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson's book "Symphonic Poem" which a good friend gave to me many years ago after an exhibit we saw of hers in Columbus. Ohio.  She is an Ohio artist and her beautiful fabric artworks called "RagGonOns" are a spectacle. I also wanted to imitate one of my favorite pieces of art that I own that hangs where I see it everyday.

It is a beautiful day today and I am eager to get working in the barn and outside!  I am so excited about the barn sale coming up and feel like I have such cool fresh pieces I just cant wait!
